Today the electrical work was finished by our electrician Keith MacKay. He put a receptacle in the side of the island which is required by code (and common sense) and he also installed a bracket on the wall for our TV. This eliminates the need for a TV stand and gets the TV out of the way, mounted flat against the wall. All of the work and helpful suggestions by Keith throughout the project were extremely valuable.
Behind the TV, we found out that there was a fairly large space about three feet deep which runs up through the entire house next to the chimney. We never knew it was there and it could be useful in the future for running wires or pipes from the basement to the second floor.
Yesterday, we brought in the chairs from the garage where we had stained and urethaned them. These chairs were purchased, on sale at The Mill Store. They add a nice touch to the island.
