Soapstone Plan B

We have been delayed a few weeks because our original soapstone surround for our sink area plans fell through.  We are either learning a lot about patience or we've become very good at washing our dishes in the bathroom sink or both.

In any case, yesterday we cut our loses and met with the fine people at Stonetek in New Bedford.  They work with contractors such as Mark Leary (our cabinet maker) throughout and beyond the area.  They will arrive Tuesday, August 23rd to make a template and hopefully within a week of that, we'll finally have our sink in place.

Unfortunately, this one item has put the final touches on our cabinets, plumbing and electrical work on hold for the past two weeks.  We actually did have the original piece of stone delivered and in place but it was the wrong color/style so we sent it back.  It wasn't even close to what it should have been.  There is a big difference between grey and green soapstone, trust me.  We wanted grey and that is what we will end up with, eventually.
