The concrete should be poured this afternoon, one of the final pieces of our project. This will make the long-endured process of shoveling snow from our driveway a much easier process (I guess). I would imagine a snow blower could be in the cards as well. That would be a first too.
All work on the driveway is being done by Shawn Guillotte of Ron Guillotte and Sons, Fairhaven.

Accents
This beautiful rug and this matching wall hanging were woven by our friend Megan Thomas (Maypole Weavers). Both pieces will add a nice touch to the new addition. The rug will keep our feet warm in front of the kitchen sink.

Bring it on, Winter: Our Woodstove is Installed
Our new wood stove is in and ready for cold weather! For more info about the unit we bought, where we got it, and who installed it, check this previous post by Matt:

A New Driveway
Most of the work is done on our house and we are waiting for numerous inspections that will have to take place to finalize the project. We have been able to finally cook in our new kitchen and that has been really enjoyable with lots of rooms and everything organized. We still have some odds and ends and touch up things to do...
Today Shawn Guillotte of Ron Guillotte & Sons in Fairhaven began work on our new cement drive and walk. After the foundation was dug and backfilled last spring, we realized we would have to do something with the driveway area which is now in front of the addition. (It used to run along the side of the house up to the back door of the kitchen, and it was all riverbed stones and gravel.) The new driveway will be 4 feet wider and a walk will wind along the side of the addition to the back door.
